An exciting opportunity at an expanding firm
We are an outstanding Legal 500 boutique corporate firm. We want to continue to develop and grow as a trusted and specialist law firm, celebrating our 20-year heritage as an elite corporate practice.
The firm boasts unique, and exceptional, longstanding relationships with the professional services sector, and in particular with Nat West, HSBC and Invest & Fund as longstanding panel members of each.
We have a loyal and expansive national client base which is served from its purpose-built offices within easy reach of the City of Birmingham.
As well as acting for the mainstream lenders, accountants and corporate finance advisers, we act for HNW individuals and SMEs, often with in excess of £10M turnover.
Whilst very much a distinct entity, Hawkins Hatton is now owned by Bamboo, so we are now part of a larger ecosystem and we are keen to raise our profile, develop our significant relationships in the sector, and expand our very particular specialist and successful offer to clients.
We are 4 Partners, and the corporate drive has been spearheaded over the years by Colin and Harminder, the founders of the firm, who are both keen to continue to develop the business and move into predominantly Business Development roles.
We are focussed on corporate, real estate and employment work, but there is so much more we can and want to do.
To that end, we are looking to recruit experienced, high calibre corporate lawyers who can help take us to the next level, capitalising on the secure banking relationships we have with the mainstream/first tier lenders, freeing our Partners to continue to cement those relationships (as well as with other lenders) whilst also enabling them to forge new relationships with our household named clients.
We specifically need a new Head for our specialist Corporate Team, but also other senior lawyers in both Corporate and Real Estate to be able to continue to offer our specialist service to our existing and anticipated new clients in Cardiff, Bristol and London.
The new Head of Corporate will have full management responsibility for the Corporate Team as well as being afforded the opportunity of working on high value, high quality M&A work, including sales and purchase, MBOs, MBIs, corporate restructures, commercial contracts, shareholder agreements and the full range of corporate and commercial work.
In particular, the new Head of Corporate will: -
· Have a proven track record of leading complex and high value corporate deals, with excellent technical drafting ability and commerciality.
· Be a confident communicator with the ability to inspire clients and peers
· Display energy, enthusiasm and passion for the practice area and business relationships
· Collaborative in every sense
· Ambition for themselves and the firm
· Experience of building client and professional relationships
· Efficient, organised, and disciplined with effective time management skills
· Be experienced in training, mentoring and supervising Team members
· Manage a large caseload of high value M&A work
· Adept at providing external and internal training.
