Proven record of success in driving operational excellence, building high-performing teams, and scaling businesses from startup to multi-million-pound organisations.
Specialist in group and volume litigation, legal compliance, SRA regulation, change leadership, and M&A advisory. An IT, workflow project leader who thrives on the value created by a superb system and automation.

With over 20 years’ experience advising businesses and their owners, Colin is known for building long‑term, trusted relationships with clients and professional advisers alike. He works closely with clients to understand their commercial objectives and ensure they receive practical, high‑quality advice tailored to their needs.
In his Business Development role, Colin supports the firm’s continued growth by strengthening existing relationships, developing new introducer networks and providing continuity for clients as Hawkins Hatton continues to evolve.

Having spent more than two decades advising clients at senior level, Harminder brings deep commercial insight and a relationship‑led approach to her work. She is highly regarded for her pragmatic advice and ability to act as a trusted sounding board for clients and introducers.
In her Business Development role, Harminder focuses on maintaining and developing key relationships, working collaboratively with clients and colleagues to support the firm’s ongoing growth and long‑term success.

Stewart is a Corporate Partner at Hawkins Hatton, leading the firm’s corporate transactions as the team continues to grow.
He works closely with clients on a wide range of corporate matters, providing clear, commercial advice and taking responsibility for leading transactions across the business. Stewart plays a key role in supporting Hawkins Hatton’s next phase of development, working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm and the wider Carbon Group.

Fiona Lee is a member of the Corporate Department at Hawkins Hatton, where she assists on a wide range of transactions. Her role encompasses undertaking legal due diligence, drafting commercial and ancillary documents including disclosure letters, and providing broader corporate support.
She graduated with a Law LLB from the University of Liverpool, which included a year abroad, and completed her LPC and Masters at the University of Law in Birmingham.
In her spare time, Fiona enjoys cooking, baking, taking long walks, and spending time with friends and family.

Ben Powell is a member of the Corporate Department at Hawkins Hatton, where he assists on a wide range of transactions including company purchases, company sales, and MBO transactions. His responsibilities within the Corporate Department involve drafting and negotiating commercial documents such as share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, disclosure letters, and loan notes, in addition to more general ancillary documents. Ben is also part of the Banking and Finance Department at Hawkins Hatton, where his duties include undertaking legal due diligence on behalf of banks as well as perfecting and registering security.
Outside of the office, Ben enjoys socialising and catching up with friends and family, travelling, and following sports. He is an avid Arsenal supporter, with football being his favourite sport.

Alisha Shah is a member of the Corporate Department at Hawkins Hatton, where she assists on a variety of transactions. Her responsibilities include undertaking due diligence, acting on behalf of lenders, and drafting contractual documents.
Alisha graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BA in Ancient History and Archaeology before completing her GDL and LPC at the University of Law.

Owen studied Law at the University of Birmingham where he graduated with a first class LLB Law degree in 2025.

David King
David King is a Commercial Property and Planning Lawyer, with extensive experience advising clients on a range of property transactions.
Since beginning his legal career at Morgan Bruce in 1994, David has developed expertise in commercial property, with unique expertise in the Telecoms sector. Following his stint at Morgan Bruce, David founded his own firm, MLM Cartwright. After many successful years as part of a team of founders, MLM Cartwright was bought by Hugh James. David went on to become an Equity Partner at Hugh James and the head of their Telecoms practice.
David’s clients are typically mobile phone operators, investors and site owners. He’s also instructed by clients who are involved in the development of renewable energy, like wind power and solar generation. A fan of keeping things simple and prioritising relationships with clients, David describes his approach as knowing the law that’s relevant to his clients, being an instinctive commercial thinker and being fun to work with.

Manisha Bajwa joined Hawkins Hatton in November 2024 as a Commercial Property Solicitor.
She studied Law with Criminology at Sheffield Hallam University and completed her LPC & Masters in Law at the University of Law in Birmingham. Her professional journey includes roles at Browne Jacobson LLP and Elliot Mather LLP, where she then qualified. Manisha brings over six years of experience in Commercial Property to her role.
She is proficient in managing her own caseload and assists on a variety of transactions, including sales, purchases, finance, and landlord and tenant work. Manisha is known for her excellent communication skills and time management, consistently receiving positive feedback from clients and colleagues on these traits.
In her spare time, Manisha regularly attends the gym and enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.

At Hawkins Hatton, we are fortunate to have an excellent Operations Support Team, helping clients navigate requirements efficiently and with minimal disruption. We provide clear, practical advice on day‑to‑day issues as well as more complex administrative challenges that sit alongside wider commercial activity.
Our team assists on a range of issues from cashiering to general administrative tasks that keeps everyone functioning smoothly and gives our fee earners the platform to deliver an excellent service.
