She is a strategic and commercially focused Executive Director and Solicitor with over 20 years' leadership experience across legal, financial, and insurance sectors. Proven record of success in driving operational excellence, building high-performing teams, and scaling businesses from startup to multi-million-pound organisations.
Specialist in group and volume litigation, legal compliance, SRA regulation, change leadership, and M&A advisory. An IT, workflow project leader who thrives on the value created by a superb system and automation.

Colin Rodrigues heads up the corporate team at HH. He is a client-facing, approachable corporate lawyer who adopts a collaborative approach to transactions. Colin is actively involved in the running, marketing, and development of the department and its corporate clients. His work primarily involves private equity work for management teams, management buy-outs, sales, mergers, acquisitions, and disposals for SME shareholders, alongside a broad range of day-to-day corporate work including restructuring of mid-sized companies and related tax issues. His recent experience includes handling multi-million-pound businesses in the hotel and leisure, aerospace, and manufacturing sectors.
Colin's client base encompasses regional, national, European, and Anglo-American companies. He aims to ensure that his clients have the best possible team working for them at every stage of a transaction and works closely with professional partners to achieve this. He also handles the drafting of disclosure letters, tax deeds, loan notes, and other ancillary documents.
On a personal level, most of Colin's time outside work is dedicated to his young family. He has a passion for food and drink and is a talented cook. Colin also enjoys travel.

Fiona Lee is a member of the Corporate Department at Hawkins Hatton, where she assists on a wide range of transactions. Her role encompasses undertaking legal due diligence, drafting commercial and ancillary documents including disclosure letters, and providing broader corporate support.
She graduated with a Law LLB from the University of Liverpool, which included a year abroad, and completed her LPC and Masters at the University of Law in Birmingham.
In her spare time, Fiona enjoys cooking, baking, taking long walks, and spending time with friends and family.

Ben Powell is a member of the Corporate Department at Hawkins Hatton, where he assists on a wide range of transactions including company purchases, company sales, and MBO transactions. His responsibilities within the Corporate Department involve drafting and negotiating commercial documents such as share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, disclosure letters, and loan notes, in addition to more general ancillary documents. Ben is also part of the Banking and Finance Department at Hawkins Hatton, where his duties include undertaking legal due diligence on behalf of banks as well as perfecting and registering security.
Outside of the office, Ben enjoys socialising and catching up with friends and family, travelling, and following sports. He is an avid Arsenal supporter, with football being his favourite sport.

Alisha Shah is a member of the Corporate Department at Hawkins Hatton, where she assists on a variety of transactions. Her responsibilities include undertaking due diligence, acting on behalf of lenders, and drafting contractual documents.
Alisha graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BA in Ancient History and Archaeology before completing her GDL and LPC at the University of Law.

Owen studied Law at the University of Birmingham where he graduated with a first class LLB Law degree in 2025.

David King
David King is a Commercial Property and Planning Lawyer, with extensive experience advising clients on a range of property transactions.
Since beginning his legal career at Morgan Bruce in 1994, David has developed expertise in commercial property, with unique expertise in the Telecoms sector. Following his stint at Morgan Bruce, David founded his own firm, MLM Cartwright. After many successful years as part of a team of founders, MLM Cartwright was bought by Hugh James. David went on to become an Equity Partner at Hugh James and the head of their Telecoms practice.
David’s clients are typically mobile phone operators, investors and site owners. He’s also instructed by clients who are involved in the development of renewable energy, like wind power and solar generation. A fan of keeping things simple and prioritising relationships with clients, David describes his approach as knowing the law that’s relevant to his clients, being an instinctive commercial thinker and being fun to work with.

Manisha Bajwa joined Hawkins Hatton in November 2024 as a Commercial Property Solicitor.
She studied Law with Criminology at Sheffield Hallam University and completed her LPC & Masters in Law at the University of Law in Birmingham. Her professional journey includes roles at Browne Jacobson LLP and Elliot Mather LLP, where she then qualified. Manisha brings over six years of experience in Commercial Property to her role.
She is proficient in managing her own caseload and assists on a variety of transactions, including sales, purchases, finance, and landlord and tenant work. Manisha is known for her excellent communication skills and time management, consistently receiving positive feedback from clients and colleagues on these traits.
In her spare time, Manisha regularly attends the gym and enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.

Joyelle Jarrett joined Hawkins Hatton in July 2022 and is currently part of the Real Estate team. Joyelle’s role includes assisting on a wide range of transactions, undertaking legal due diligence, drafting documents and providing general support.
Joyelle completed her LPC and MSc in Business and Management at the University of Law in November 2019, after earning her degree in LLB Law and Management from Aston University. Joyelle qualified as a solicitor in September 2025.

Harminder Sandhu leads the dispute resolution department at Hawkins Hatton. With nearly two decades of experience in conducting and advising on high-value and complex litigation claims, she adopts a commercial and pragmatic approach to dispute resolution.
Harminder is known for seeking out innovative solutions for clients rather than merely following a process and is a keen advocate of mediation. Her department handles litigation across various subjects including fraud, shareholder disputes, contractual claims, negligence, and partnership issues. The client base spans diverse sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, hospitality, insurance, pharmaceuticals, social care, IT, waste recycling, and professional services.

Gabriel Rodriguez-Cleary

Gabriel Rodriguez-Cleary is a Commercial Litigation specialist with experience across many sectors advising clients on a broad range of commercial, corporate and financial disputes. Known for his client-friendly approach, Gabriel works with clients to ensure that each matter proceeds in accordance with their best interests. Gabriel is well-versed in contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, reputation management, harassment claims, financial litigation including invoice financing and debt-recovery, and professional negligence claims.
Gabriel very much enjoys the process of building a case from inception to trial, although he is also a strong advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution. Gabriel is well-versed in leading mediations and works with clients to find pragmatic and commercial solutions as well as legal solutions. Over his career, he has always strived to achieve results which are bespoke to his clients' needs, both in and out of the litigation process.
Gabriel also offers clients advisory services and gains particular satisfaction from working with clients on a prevention-rather-than-cure basis. Clients also enjoy this work as it results in mitigation of risk and less time and money spent firefighting!
Outside of work, Gabriel is a lover of sports, travel, a good film or series or a nice walk in nature. Above all, he enjoys being kept on his toes by his 3 young children.

Kate Walsh is an employment consultant at Hawkins Hatton and a trusted adviser to employers on all aspects of employment law. She has experience of working in-house for large organisations so is not only capable of advising on the employment aspects of corporate transactions but day-to-day workplace issues too.
Her practice spans the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment through to complex exits and all the knotty employment issues in between. She is skilled in drafting and negotiating employment contracts, consultancy agreements and settlement agreements and can offer on-site or remote support with TUPE transfers or redundancies. Kate regularly appears in tribunal proceedings up and down the country in cases concerning discrimination, unfair dismissal and whistleblowing.
As a part-time university teacher, Kate also enjoys delivering interactive training sessions to clients on a range of employment topics, whether online or in-person.
Outside of work you will either find Kate at a beach with her children or listening to one of her favourite podcasts.
